A company exited and there were realized gains but I haven’t received the funds in my investment account. Why?
It often takes several weeks or more for final exit documentation to be processed, wires received, and funds distributed to your account.
Sometimes news reports of an exit will occur when the deal has signed but not closed: in that case, the delay can be substantially longer, as the deal must formally close before payments are processed.
In the case of a company shutting down, the shut down process can often last a number of months as the company works with creditors and their lawyers and accountants to wind up the company and distribute final proceeds to investors.
If you haven’t received your funds from an exit, please also ensure that your tax information is up to date here.
